Sainsbury's Local Holburn Street Delivers 4 Crates of Food for Storehouse

October 22, 2015

Today, Sainsbury's Local on Holburn Street, which has chosen Integrate as it's local charity of the year, delivered 4 crates of food which had been donated by members of the public whilst shopping at their store.

David and Michael from the store took the time out to deliver the food and visit the Storehouse cupboard itself.

Sainsbury's have been collecting food in their store for a number of months now and it's really helped in keeping our stock levels up. Storehouse doesn't hold onto or stockpile food, if there is food and there's a need for it, it's given away. In recent weeks our cupboard has been emptying on a weekly basis, which has been hard to manage, but with the support of our partners collecting at workplaces and schools and the generosity of the congregation of City Church Aberdeen, the cupboard fills again each time it's emptied.

If you'd like to know more about donating food or getting your school, church or workplace involved in collecting, you can check our Storehouse page or contact us via any of the methods on our Contact Us page.
