Integrate Clients Benefit as Tesco Joins the Food Cloud Revolution

Tesco and Fareshare have signed up to the FoodCloud initiative which helps businesses redistribute their surplus food to people who need it. Integrate collected from the Danestone Tesco Extra for the first time on Sunday 22nd May. We received three larges cases of bakery items which were distributed the following day to just short of 60 guests at our Lifestyle service. It really put a smile on some faces who would usually receive non-perishable items like tinned food, pasta and rice etc.

We think it’s a great initiative that makes good sense. Rather than dumping the food, or reducing it so much that shoppers end up fighting over it, the food gets to those who need it most via a network of charity partners working at grass roots level. Thanks Tesco & Fareshare!

We need help to collect the food each Sunday between 8.30pm, and 9.30pm from Tesco Danestone. We’re looking for a team of between 4 and 6 volunteers to share the load so that it’s not too frequent a job. If you think you could help in that way, please email us or call on 01224608018. Thanks!
