The Integrate / City Church Aberdeen CAP Debt Centre has been featured in the ACVO e-bulletin for July.
ACVO (Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations) exists to develop, involve, represent and support the third sector in Aberdeen. They've been extremely supportive of Integrate and the CAP Debt Centre, helping us to link up with other organisations and to build awareness of the service in Aberdeen.
The CAP Debt centre provides free, award winning, professional debt help to anyone who finds themselves in debt in Aberdeen or selected parts of Aberdeenshire. We walk people through every step of the journey to becoming debt free, setting a liveable budget, prioritising food, heating and housing, working with creditors to stop unfair interest and charges and so that the person suffering with debt no longer has to.
Unmanageable debt often has crippling personal and social consequences and the need for free, effective debt help and budgeting skills is increasing, particularly in light of the oil and gas industry downturn and resultant job losses. Our response to these needs in our communities is the free budgeting skills course and debt help service. It's through these that we aim to
help individuals and families who are suffering with debt to become and stay debt free
release people from the consequences of debt, things like relationship and family break-down, lost homes, high blood pressure, depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, stress, substance abuse and suicidal thoughts or suicide attempts
enable and empower people to budget effectively, to make sound financial decisions and to avoid debt

“From the moment CAP got involved, everything changed. We were given a budget, which meant I could suddenly do all the things that a parent is meant to do for their child.”
Sarah, Debt Centre Client
“CAP are unsurpassed when it comes to the debt help they give people across the country. There’s nothing better to start you on the path to having more money in your pocket.”
Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert
