On Sunday, November 20th, City Church Aberdeen gathered all 7 of its sites and all 9 services together at the Aberdeen Beach Ballroom for their 'Big Gathering' event.
Tracey Davidson, our CAP Debt Centre Manager was prayed for by the 500+ in attendance as we took the time to celebrate the CAP Debt Centre, hear about how it's impacting the lives of those in debt and how people can get involved.
We opened our centre because we were moved by compassion for those in our communities who were suffering as a result of debt and poverty. The CAP model is one of compassion. It addresses not only the financial situation, but the persons emotional, practical and spiritual needs as well. We've already seen people come back into community who have felt isolated, lonely and excluded for years.
Since opening in April 2016, the project has been on an amazing journey. Tracey Davidson has done a remarkable job of raising the profile and building the team and we've taken on more clients than we expected / had planned for!
The centre is run and paid for by Integrate Scotland (City Church's Social Action Partner). It was opened in faith, that is, we can't afford it, but we're prayerfully expecting the money to be provided!
